| What is an Enclave? |
| An Nclaves enclave
comprises trusted friends and family members. An enclave
is created by a director, who invites other family members.
Each member may invite other members or trusted friends.
Of course, any given member may belong to (or direct)
multiple enclaves simultaneously. Within an enclave, members
can securely connect with each other, exchange documents
among each other via an electronic document vault, broadcast
family news of interest, do audio/video conferencing,
and so forth. The combination of secure communications,
a clearly known list of members, and safe document storage
creates a private and secure enclave. In future releases,
we intend to include access to safety and health remote
monitoring devices connected to a local computer, such
as a device that can remotely monitor a room's temperature
or turn lights on/off and can be controlled securely within
an enclave. This will further enhance the level of support
and family care that members can provide to each other
within an enclave. |

| How do I create an enclave for my family? |
| It only takes
a few mouse clicks on your computer, and you will be enjoying
your own private enclave, separate from all the other
enclaves out there. Just click on the "Create Enclave"
image or this link (CreateEnclave)
and follow the simple steps. Once you create your enclave,
you then invite family members you trust, regardless of
where they live. |
| |
| How do I add other members to my enclave? |
| All your
interaction with Nclaves is through its desktop-based
application. See how the interface
looks to get an idea of Nclaves user interaction. One
of the menus in Nclaves includes the option to "invite
members". Click on that. Then, all you need to provide
is the "potential" member's email address, his/her
name (or nickname) and optionally, a welcoming message.
The Nclaves system sends an email to that family member
(on your behalf). When that member accepts the invitation
and creates an account, he or she will be added to your
the enclave. You can allow that member to further invite
more members, and the cycle can continue. You can decide
if open invitations are allowed or not in your enclave. |
| |
| How
do you make sure my member data is secure and safe?
|
| Nclaves is a hosted service. Member data
is securely hosted at a co-location facility in Fremont,
CA, USA. No one can get to the data physically. Moreover,
you can encrypt your documents before placing them in
the secure document vault. Only those who know the encryption
key will be able to see the contents. |
| |
| Why does it sometimes take so long to connect to my enclave? |
|
The total "performance" of
an application like Nclaves (an Internet-centric application)
relies on the network. The network speed at the time
and place from where you access the Nclaves server may
affect your experience. Besides your network speed,
there are other factors that might also have an impact,
such as the total number of people accessing the Nclaves
system at the same time. (You can check
actual network access speed, which may be different
from the advertised numbers).

| How do I re-install the software on another (or same) computer? |
| You can install Nclaves software on as
many computers as you wish - so that you can access your
enclave any time, any where. Just click on download
software and follow the same installation steps. |
